| A game for learning related words |
| Odd Word Out: The teacher divided the class into two teams. The teacher prepares several lists of 4 or 5 related words (for example: drinks such as cha2, ka1fei1, pi2jiu3, ke3le4) with one word which does not fit in (for example: bei1zi which is not a drink). The two teams compete with each other to name the the word which is out of place. (For a description of this game see Let's Play Games in Chinese, p. 62.) |
| A game for learning the negative form |
| Positive to Negative: The teacher divides the class into two teams. The two teams take turns to say positive sentences and ask the other team to negate the sentences within three seconds. The game will be more challenging if the sentences contain the verb "you3" (have) or the particle "le." |
