Games for IC 1 Lesson 9

Game 1 - The Buzz Game (for reviewing numbers):
The teacher asks the students to form a circle. The students count numbers in sequence. If a student's number is 7, has 7 in it, or a multiple of 7, he/she must claps his/her hands in stead of saying the number. (For a description of this game see Let's Play Games in Chinese, pp. 22.)
Game 2 - Musical Chairs / Da4 Feng1 Chui1 (listening):
The number of seats should be one less than the number of the students. Example: If there are ten students in a class, then there should only be nine chairs. Designate one student to stand while the others remain seated. The one who is standing says: "Da4 feng1 chui1!" Everyone answers: " Chui1 shen2me?" The one who is standing says: "Chui1 chuan1 bai2 se4 chen4shan1 de5 ren2." Then the ones who are wearing white shirts plus the one who is standing should compete to grab a seat. Anyone who is not quick enough to take a seat stands in the center and "blows" something that the rest of the students are wearing.
Game 3 - Measure-Word Competition (grammar):
Group A picks up an object and Group B has to say the corresponding measure word.
Game 4 - Role Play (speaking):
Ask the students to bring some clothes to class and play salesmen and customers.
