Lecturer in Chinese Language
The Department of Asian Languages and Literature at the University of Iowa, has an opening for a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer in Chinese Language for the academic year of 2001-2002. Salary is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include: teaching three classes per semester that may include first- to fifth-year Chinese language with emphasis on advanced level language courses, supervising graduate Teaching Assistants, compiling teaching materials, and assisting the Chinese language program coordinator for program development. Requirements: native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English; M.A. in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Linguistics, or Second Language Acquisition.
