Council on International Educational Exchange, known as Council and as CIEE, is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization dedicated to helping people gain understanding, acquire knowledge, and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world. Founded in 1947, CIEE has developed a wide variety of programs and services primarily for students and teachers at secondary through university levels. Today, with 300 professionals working in 30 countries, CIEE has become one of the world's leading operators of international exchange programs and related services.
Council-International Study Programs (Council-ISP), a division of Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), offers educational programs abroad for students, faculty and educational administrators. In addition, Council-ISP is responsible for a major annual conference for professionals in international educational exchange and is the founding institution and one of the on-going sponsors of the Journal of Studies in International Educational Exchange, a forum for noteworthy scholarship and provocative thinking about efforts to provide quality international educational exchange programs. Council-ISP is currently seeking qualified individuals to lead and manage study abroad programs at several locations beginning in the Fall 2002.
QUALIFICATIONS:
| Terminal degree in a related field | |
| Fluency in Chinese language. | |
| Experience teaching university students about Chinese culture, history, politics, or language | |
| Experience in program administration and/or counseling | |
| Knowledge of U.S. university Chinese language programs | |
| In-country living experience | |
| Interested in the experiential learning process and leading excursions in and around the city of Beijing |
