The Department of Asian Languages and Literatures at the University of Massachusetts invites applications for a two-year, full-time position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Chinese, to begin September 1,1999. Principal responsibilities will be undergraduate language instruction and supervision of Teaching Assistants. Preference will be given tocandidates with Ph. D in hand, and specialized training and experience in proficiency-oriented language instruction, and native-speaker level competence in standard Mandarin Chinese. The position is renewable, contingent upon funding.
