Position in Chinese

Department of Linguistics and Germanic, Slavic, Asian and African Languages seeks to fill a fixed term position in Chinese at the rank of Lecturer (MA and ABD) or visiting Assistant Professor (PhD), beginning August 16, 2001 and ending May 15, 2004. This position is renewable based on teaching performance, program need and availability of funding. Masters degree in Chinese, Language Pedagogy, Applied Linguistics, or relevant fields required, Ph.D. preferred. Applicants must be qualified to teach Chinese language first through fourth years and have proficiency-based teaching experience. Teaching duties include 3 regular courses per semester, supervising independent studies, training and evaluating graduate student teaching assistants, and involvement with curriculum/program development.
