Chinese Language and Literature

With generous support from the Henry Luce Foundation, Beloit College is pleased to announce a tenure-track position as the Luce Junior Professor of Asian Studies. The position is for a person in Chinese Language and Literature at the Assistant Professor level starting August 2002. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing an advanced Chinese language curriculum and for developing a set of courses in Chinese literature, both in translation and in the original. The Luce Junior Professor will be a member of the department of modern languages and literatures, and will also play an integral role in the College's Asian Studies program. The Professor will be expected on occasion to contribute courses to other interdisciplinary programs within the College, including the first-year seminar program and the major in Comparative Literature. Ph.D. required.
