Assistant/Associate Professor in Chinese Literature/Comparative Literature

The Asian Studies Program of the University of Redlands invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant/associate professor level, beginning September 2002. Responsibilities include courses in Chinese literature and comparative literature. Candidates must be trained in the Chinese language and literature, including drama, narrative and poetry. Background in comparative literature and ability to teach courses dealing with Asia and the West are crucial. Examples include images of women in Asian and Western literature, Asian American literature, and masterpieces of Chinese literature. The candidate will be required to teach a wide range of courses from introductory levels to advanced seminars. The selected candidate must be able to instruct and interact with an ethnically and culturally diverse student body.
