Soka University of America, Aliso Viejo, a small private Liberal Arts University seeks individual to serve as Professor of Chinese Language and Culture. Successful candidate should be broadly educated, participating in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary curriculum. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chinese, ABD will be considered. Area of specialization in Chinese literature and culture. Prefer secondary specialization in applied linguistics or methodology. Teaching assignment to include all levels of Chinese language and culture. Candidates should be trained in task-based, proficiency-oriented teaching, and show a record of excellent teaching. Experience in curriculum and materials development. Ability to work well with diverse, multicultural populations. Ability and willingness to incorporate learning technologies in the language curriculum. Position is open to applicants from all ranks. SUA employs the single academic title, "Professor." Appointment is initially for three years, and may become permanent. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. SUA is an equal opportunity employer.
