Lecturer of Chinese Language

Brown University, Providence, RI 02912. The Department of East Asian Studies seeks to employ a lecturer of Chinese language, on a three-year renewable basis, effective July 1, 2003. M.A. degree, or the equivalent, is minimally required. Native or near-native fluency in Chinese (Mandarin), competency in spoken and written English. Candidates should ideally have experience teaching Chinese language to English-speaking students at the college level. Experience directing Chinese language courses, or developing language teaching materials is also highly desirable. Published scholarship on language acquisition or cultural themes is desirable as well.
