Chinese Language and Literature
Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year, full-time Chinese Language and Literature Assistant Professorship beginning in August 2003 and renewable for two additional years. Native or near-native proficiency in Chinese and English are required. Preference given to those with a Ph.D. in Chinese literature and language, experience teaching college level language and literature, familiarity with liberal arts colleges, and enthusiasm for building a Chinese language program in an emerging East Asian Studies Department that currently offers a four-year Japanese language program. The first year teaching load would be 2-2 with released time to develop materials for a new language center facility and to archive and assess materials in the College library's East Asian Collection; teaching load in subsequent years would be 3-3.
