Pre-modern Chinese Literature
The Chinese Department at Reed College invites applications for a two-year visiting position in Pre-modern Chinese Literature at the Assistant Professor level to begin the fall 2003. Reed College is a small, highly selective undergraduate institution with an emphasis on excellence in teaching and scholarship. We seek candidates who have a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. Candidates should be able to teach Chinese language at all levels from beginning to advanced, offer courses in pre-modern Chinese literature, participate in the team-taught Chinese Humanities course, and advise Chinese major theses. Candidates must have native- or near native fluency in both Chinese & English, and the Ph.D. in hand or near completion in classical Chinese literature or related field.
