Resident Director for Beijing Program

Skidmore College invites applications for the Resident Director position for its study abroad program in Beijing, China. The Skidmore-in Beijing Program is designed to integrate classroom learning with fieldwork, in which students are engaged in projects with a goal to better understand Chinese society and culture. This is a full-time, two-year position with possibility of renewal, stationed in Beijing. The Resident Director reports to the Director of the Beijing Program for all academically related issues and to the Director of Office of International Programs for non-academic issues. Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred (ABD considered) in China-related field, extensive knowledge of China and experience of teaching/working with American undergraduate students required; understanding of fieldwork in China (especially urban life) preferred, fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese required; and teaching experience in U.S. higher education system.
