ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MODERN CHINESE LITERATURE

The Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages and Literatures at the Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for tenure-line assistant professor of modern Chinese literature to begin in Fall, 2000. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in English translation, graduate seminars in appropriate areas, and advanced language courses. Interest in film studies, women’s studies, etc., desirable but not required. Candidates must have PhD at time of appointment and advanced proficiency in English and Chinese. Review of applications begins November 15, 1999 but will be accepted until position is filled.
