One-year Replacement Position
Williams College. Williamstown, MA 01267. Applications are invited for an opening in Chinese language and culture beginning in September 2000. The position is a full-time, one-year leave-replacement at the junior level, though a senior appointment may be possible in exceptional circumstances. Minimum requirements include: Ph.D. or A.B.D. in linguistics, foreign language education, Chinese literature, film or other area of cultural studies; native or near-native proficiency in Chinese; strong teaching experience; and ability to teach all levels of language in close coordination with colleagues. Send cover letter, vita, grad school records, sample audio tape of candidate speaking Chinese, and three recommendations to: George T. Crane, Chair, Department of Asian Studies by February 1, 2000.
