Chinese Language and Literature

The Department of Chinese, Wellesley College, invites applications for a full-time, one-year position as visiting Assistant Professor of Chinese Language and Literature, beginning fall 2002. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Chinese language and literature with teaching experience. Candidates must have native or near native proficiency in both Chinese and English. The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses; two language courses: Advanced Intermediate Chinese I and II; and three literature courses: Unmasking Confucian Voices: From Antiquity to the Tenth Century (in English), Topics in Chinese Literature (in English), and Advanced Reading in Contemporary Issues (in Chinese). A letter of application, CV, videotape of classroom teaching, and three letters of recommendation must be received by March 25, 2002.
