The Chinese calligraphy exhibition-demonstration at last year’s annual meeting in Dallas, TX, was held on November 19-20, l999. The co-directors of the project were Professors Chin-mei Ma Yang of Lincoln University, PA and Jasmine Tang at SUNY Geneseo, NY. We were very fortunate this year to have had besides Prof. San-Pao Li, Dr. Bertrand Mao, and Mr. Herbert Yen also Mr. Xin-Shi Tu as our demonstrators. This was Mr. Tu’s first time with us. He held a calligraphy exhibition in the Shanghai Library in Shanghai from 12/30-1/3/2000, which was reported in the "Chinese American Post" as a very successful exhibition.

The CEG calligraphy exhibition-demonstration project was designed to promote calligraphy education and to publicize CLTA. We have always been able to attract large crowds of visitors to our booths, and last year was no exception. We wish to thank all of you for your generous support of our cause, especially Professors Tsung Chin of the University of Maryland, MD and Madeline Chu, Executive Director of CLTA, who has provided us with valuable guidance and assistance. We look forward to seeing you again in Boston this year!
