CALL FOR PAPERS

1999 CLTA Annual Meeting

November 19-21, 1999

Wyndham Anatole Hotel, Dallas, Texas

The 1999 annual meeting of the Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA), held in conjunction with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), is scheduled at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel, Dallas, Texas, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 19-21. Proposals for papers or panel presentations should be received by mail at the following address by February 16, 1999:

Tianwei Xie
Dept. of EALC (East Asian Languages and Literatures)
University of California, Davis, CA 95616, U.S.A.
Tel: (530) 752-4129 (office)
Email: twxie@ucdavis.edu

The Program Committee will consider proposals both for panels (separate abstracts for each paper on a panel) and for individual papers. Pre-formatted panels are particularly welcome; individual papers, accepted on the own merits, will, where possible, be organized into panels by theme. Ideally, a panel will consist of a chair and three presenters (one of whom may be the chair); a discussant is optional. Please use one of the forms at the bottom of this page to apply, and limit the length of your abstract to 200 words. If you need special equipment for your presentation, be sure to indicate so in the space provided on the form.

Because of an increase in the number of proposals received in recent years, together with the standing restriction on our total number of presentations, we are continuing the policy of ONLY ALLOWING PROPOSALS SUBMITTED BY CLTA MEMBERS TO BE CONSIDERED. Please note that each participant in the program must be a CLTA member, and must register with ACTFL for the annual meeting.

Many thanks for your interest! We hope to see you in Dallas next November.

Xie, Tianwei

CLTA Program Committee Chair, 1999
