CALL FOR PAPERS

2000 CLTA Annual Meeting

November 16-19, 2000

Boston, Massachusetts

The 2000 annual meeting of the Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA), held in conjunction with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), will be held at the Marriott Copley Place in Boston, Massachusetts. Proposals for individual papers or panel presentations should be received by mail at the following address by February 14, 2000:

CLTA Program Committee
Harvard University
5 Bryant Street
Cambridge, MA 02138

The Program Committee welcomes submissions on a wide variety of topics on methodology, assessment, language acquisition, Chinese linguistics, and literature and language instruction.  The Program Committee will consider proposals both for panels (separate abstracts for each paper on a panel) and for individual papers. Ideally, a panel will consist of a chair and three presenters (one of whom may be the chair) and a discussant. Individual papers, accepted on its own merits, will, where possible, be organized into themes. Please use one of the forms on the following pages to apply, and limit the length of your abstract to 200 words.

Because of the increase in the number of proposals in recent years, together with the standing restriction on our total number of presentations, we are continuing the policy of ONLY ALLOWING PROPOSALS SUBMITTED BY CLTA MEMBERS TO BE CONSIDERED. Please note that every participant in the program must be a CLTA member, and must register with ACTFL for the annual meeting.

Many thanks for your interest! We hope to see you in Boston next November.

CLTA Program Committee Chair, 1999
